Supporting Children: Development

Children who experience challenges in their daily functioning don't reach milestones on par with
their peers.

With speech, language and communication, this causes difficulties both emotionally and socially.

Neurophysical and sensory difficulties limit a child in other ways, because they can struggle with completing tasks due to weakness, poor posture, balance, motor skills or sensory overload.

Speech and Language therapy (SLT)

We offer individual speech and language sessions that are focused on children’s specific targets.

Sessions may include:

Rina didn't raise her hand in class to answer questions as she was worried the words would get stuck. After a block of speech therapy, Rina's confidence had grown and with her new found strategies and the teacher receiving the adequate support she was able to participate. In Rina's words, "now the teacher can see I know the answers like everyone else!"

Speech and Language Group

Improving communication skills alongside peers allows for generalisation and acceptance amongst friends.

We offer social skills groups or language group sessions that are focused on each child’s specific targets.

Sessions include activities that facilitate conversation building, understanding others perspective and skills to support solving social problems and building relationships with peers.

Occupational therapy

We offer:

We did a load of exercises and funnily enough I can now put together old information with new stuff we’ve learnt. It’s like my brain has been rewired – awesome!
